We are presenting the results of a project under the AGILE initiative of the Oxford Martin School (https://www.agile-initiative.ox.ac.uk/sprints/how-can-maritime-shipping-transition-to-green-ammonia-as-fuel/). The study is investigating the decarbonisation of the maritime industry using green ammonia.

We combine forecast shipping demands estimated by the Department of Geography, forecast ammonia production cost and capacity estimated by the Department of Engineering, and public policy considerations from the Oxford Smith School. We will discuss how these considerations have been integrated into a global, spatially granular model of green ammonia production, distribution and consumption, and what that model tells us about the future of green shipping fuels
