The paper describes the technical challenges which have been identified and overcome when designing an ammonia cracking plant, which provides the necessary flexibility to serve the needs of the power sector without compromising safety or reliability. This will cover aspects of process, mechanical and control system design as well as inherent safety.
It will also describe the challenges which have been faced when designing an ammonia cracking plant which can both use ammonia as a fuel and which can seamlessly switch between fuels.
